It is about 3 months after the original posting of this entry, and gas prices are hovering around $3.85 once again after reaching over $4.00 here in sunny Florida. Of course, we are no longer "in season"!
We have many alternative sources that power autos... have you seen the air compressed cars? cut little things, so instead of pulling into a gas stations and filling up with fuel, you fill up with air! http://www.theaircar.com/acf/
There is also a guy from Clearwater that is taking his discover to Washington... check out the water powered version.. http://www.drivewithwaterfuel.com/?hop=jethro3737
I saw $3.87 the other day and took a deep breath. While other stations are still around $3.72 this was shocking. However, it did give a look at things to come. Then I had to ask myself, "what is this all about". "Where is the GOOD in this". I was quickly answered with, "it is forcing us to discover alternative sources of fuel." How true. Although Bush states the answer is to drill more oil and build more refineries (thus why we are grateful he will be leaving office soon), the answer is to find another way. Mother Earth has provided oil for us for eons of time and maybe she is getting exhausted. I had a friend visit the other day who use to work in the oil fields. He was describing to me how the process works. When he said they used acid to "make mother earth regurgitate", I felt the churning in my own stomach. He stated the acid was like making her sick so that she would throw up....the oil that is. This was such an enlightenment to me about what we are doing and that it is far past time to find other ways. Interestingly enough, there are so many alternatives that are earth friendly, air friendly and people friendly. The only people that would suffer would be those that have been raping, (did i say that?), I mean reaping financial rewards for years. Maybe it is time for someone else to profit and not at the expense of our planet. What do you think?

Terrific, Barb! I'm sure Bush will push off-shore drilling and say now that Iowa has 'lost its corn crop' (and it supplies 30% of the biofuel source), they'll just have to start making mom-nature vomit again.
Possibly next year, Iowa will have a 'bumper' crop - just in time to handle the need for the cars that still are being sold; in design, and will be offered in 2009 as capable of using 'corn oil' to power them up.
Are we controlled or what? Yup - we are!
Enjoyed the music; thank you for putting my link on your 'travel' section, and I liked the music on that as well.
Love, Diane
interesting that you say "vomit" as that is exactly what mother earth does in the drilling process
wonder if any one considers the aspect of "global warming" from internally? what do we think that heat tolerant substance in our earth is for? anyone consider it might be for protection from the earth's core???
simliar to life... many people only see the "external" and forget about the "internal"
can we say "air powered auto"?
Aha, not only do they have the air powered car, but the water one too!
So, we've got the electric; the battery-powered - air, and water...surely solar will be part of the 'newest collection'.
Of course we can go to 'pedal power', and use our legs. Maybe they'll do a 'wrap-around' car; we'll strap it on - stick a tiny tube and pepper up our nose, and sneeze our way to the grocery store under our own 'achoo' power. Given the various ideas that are popping around, it wouldn't surprise me if someone would think up something like this.
Should I mention we might try harnessing the 'fart'? Beans, beans, the musical and energy fruit - you'll save gas; pass gas, and become your 'horn' as you 'toot'.
Gad, that is bad - not writing under the influence, I assure you. Smile - Diane
